Closing today and I'm FREAKING out!!
My atty still doesn't have the final number for our certified check!!
What a fiasco. The bank's atty has been trying to help me but there's only so much he can do. Meanwhile my atty says she'll get it to my by 9:30am.
Is this normal??

everything will be ok. I remember feeling like nobody involved but my Dh & I gave a damn. They do these everyday so they are so not stressed about it. I hated that feeling but it all works out. Take a deep breath & enjoy your closing!!!

we didnt get our final number until 12noon....day of closing....we then had to go to the bank for the checks and the closing was supposed to be at 12:30!!

But did you get a HUD1 statement by chance? The final version should have been given to you no later than yesterday (although I don't think everyone requests one) and the closing amount is on there.
But like others have said, they know what they're doing...good luck!

Our closing was scheduled for 3pm yesterday and I was at the bank at 2pm getting the certified check. I don't think its completely abnormal to have to wait so long but it is frustrating.

It's not unusual. Many time the title company and the bank do not get the numbers to the attorney before the close of business the day before closing, so she can't get them to you.

We got our numbers as we were doing the walk through and we closed!!
So we're officially homeowners!!
But no, we didn't get that HUD statement until we got to the closing. There was definitely a breakdown in communication but it all worked out in the end.
It is completely nerve-wracking - especially since it's not like you're cutting a check for $25.
But whatever - we got the house and we love it!!
