acid reflux?

Do any of you have kids with acid reflux? How did you know - what were the signs?

I have suspicions that Talia has AR - over the past few nights she has been crying like crazy - while she eats and after. She has been spitting up a lot of liquid, and no matter how much I burp her she seems to be stiff as a board.

Any thoughts - suggestions?
THe dr. told me that her spitting up is ok as long as she is gaining weight - but to mee it just seems excessive at times.

No advice, but I wanted to say I think little Alex has the same problem. FOr the last few days she gets really upset about 30 minutes after she eats... she spits up, hiccups and then strains her body for a good 45 minutes while fussing. No major crying but I can tell something is making her terribly uncomfortable. I'm going to check with my Ped at the next appointment - I'll let you know what he says!

Mine has mild acid reflux. When he was young, he spit up alot and he did this choking type thing (kind of like gagging) very often. he never could handle large amounts to drink at once - still today - I rarely go above 5.5-6oz per feeding (he is 8months old).

I never did the meds though. I opted to see if it got worse. With the change in formula and as he got older- it definitely lessened.

How often are you feeding her? When I overfed my kids, they would spit up a ton. It usually happened when I was late feeding them, they would nurse like madmen & then BLECH!

i spoke to my dr. - he suspects she has it too and wants me to change her formula to soy formula - but I only give her one bottle of formula a day (if that) should I maybe up it to 2 bottles to see if she feels betteR?
