When do you start tummy time?
I'm not sure when you are supposed to start this and what exactly do you do?

You can start right from day one....I used to just put Mallory on her blanket on the floor and lay down on my belly to and talk to her - she hated tummy time...just keep trying.

When we brought Emily to the pediatritian for her one week checkup they said we could start it now. She said to just give her time to be on her tummy for like 1-3 minutes for now, to help her upper body strength develop. We've only done it a few times because she doesn't really like it but we're trying to get it in as much as possible. She's starting to really like looking around on her gymni now so that's when we do it.

The doctor told us to start at her one week appointment. We tried and she hated it so I would do it like once or twice a week until she started freaking out (like 2 minutes). Well, in hindsight that was a big mistake because she developed a slight flat spot on the back of her head from being on her back to sleep and play all the time. The doctor's not concerned about it, he says it will most likely round out on it's own now that she is on her belly or sitting pretty much all the time, but I feel like a horrible mommy everytime I feel it. Like I've already screwed her up.

Same here. Christopher actually likes tummy time, so we got lucky.

After the first two weeks - we did it for a few minutes here and there. Jillian liked it much better than Matthew did.
