Faint positive followed by a negative HPT?
Hello,
Has anyone ever tested a very very faint positive on a HPT, and then tested again a short time later negative?
I used an EPT this AM, got a very faint positive, and then tested with a Clearblue Easy about 45 minutes ago and got a negative.
Has this ever happened to anyone?

it hasn't happened to me.
How many DPO are you?
Maybe it's so early you don't have that much hormone in your system. In that case, a test with FMU can be + whereas, a test taken later in the day with regular urine could be -.
Try again tomorrow AM.

Your first pee is usually the best pee, so if it is very early I could see that happening. I would test again in a few days. Good Luck

You could have gotten a false negative because you tested too soon after testing the first time. You usually don't get false postives. I would either wait til tomorrow morning and test with first morning urine or you can wait about 4 hours to go to the bathroom, limit the amount of fluids you take in, and test later today.

i have experienced a false positive that can be classified as a "chemical pregnancy"...
i had very light spotting right around AF was due. after a day it vanished. i waited a few days, tested 3 times (1 regular clearblue easy, 2 digital) and got all positives. a week later tested twice, got 2 negatives. period showed up the following day.

Thank you so much ladies. I guess I'll know soon enough! 
I haven't had any spotting at all. My period has always been kind of all over the place too, but time it's really late, that's why I tested.

I haven't had any spotting at all. My period has always been kind of all over the place too, but time it's really late, that's why I tested.
You can wait a couple of hours (trying not to pee) and test again - sometimes it works or test again in the morning.

I would say that the first test was the right one..
since it was faint ( faint is still POSITIVE) then it is common that the 2nd test since it wasnt first morning Urine might not have picked up enough HCG to be positive..
Sounds like your pregnant!

But this was soooooo faint that I had a hard time telling. Now that I look at it again, I can see it, but I'm afraid my eyes are playing tricks on me!
