Laser Hair Removal....anyone?

is it worth it? did it hurt bad? My gyno's office does it....bikini area PLUS is $150 for the first session, $50 off per session for follow ups.

Best results for fair skinned, dark haired such as myself and I'm really considering it for certain reasons

I wish my gyno's office did that, I would get it done. I hate shaving!

Re: Laser Hair Removal....anyone?

I haven't had the bikini area done, but I go regularly for it for my face (I'm a little furry)Chat Icon ...it hurts, depending on how high they need to put the laser, it can hurt alot, ice really helps, an aspirin is good, and make sure you have some nice soothing lotion (aloe, etc) to use after.
it works really well for dark hair on fair skin...I'm very fair, but the hair I'm having removed is also kinda light, so it's working in patches....it's a little frustrating actually...
I can tell you that once you starting, waxing is out of the question-you could rip your skin off-also DO NOT go tanning, or use a fake tanning lotion/spray/crea, within one week before or after...the tanning could burn you, and the melanin will attract more heat from the laser...
also you can't do it within two weeks of taking any antibiotics.
sorry, I'm writing a book here....
ummmm...oh, the price is great, really reasonable....

ETA: back to the waxing being off limits-I got off track with the tanning-you can only remove the hair by shaving after you start, to keep it all at the same growing rate....

How often do you have to get it done after you've done it once? I want DH to get this. I'm so mean.

Re: Laser Hair Removal....anyone?

also, it's not working as well because my hair is lighter, so for someone with darker hair they might have to go less frequently...plus I don't know the time table for areas other than the face...the bikini area could be consider more sensitive and they recommend waiting a minimum of 8 weeks or something, ya know....I'm really trying to get rid of it, so I go as quickly as they let me....

Re: Laser Hair Removal....anyone?

hmmm...

I did do brazilians for awhile. I am considering this because she said I was developing a rash from shaving Chat Icon

but...I am on a topical antibiotic for my rosacea (on my face). I wonder if that is a factor.

thanks for the input fitzy!

I would love to do this. Can you give me the info to your gyno.

Secondly, how many visits do you think it will take until there is no more hair growth?

Re: Laser Hair Removal....anyone?

My sister had it done 3 years ago and it grew back! She said it was very painful, cost her about $5000, and didn't end up working!
