Maternity Pants from 2nd to 3rd trimester

When you transition from the 2nd to 3rd trimester, did you feel enough discomfort that you had to get full panel pants? or did u get away with the half panel pants for a while?

I have all different kind of pannels, but i fold them over. I can't get used to something laying on my belly..

I had a few pair of the full panel pants, but I avoided wearing them. They made my belly itch.

If you avoided the full panel pants, did the others not bother you?

No, it was the waistband of the full panel ones that would drive me insane. I was scratching all day long.

Gap has roll panel, which you can roll up or under your belly.

I went right to the full panel. For me, it was all about comfort and the full panel is more comfortable. I've been wearing them since my 2nd tri.

I never wore the full panels. They were so uncomfortable to me(my mom bought me 1 pair of pants with them). I needed to wear things that stayed UNDER my belly...maybe cause I carried high the whole time. Believe it or not, I wore non-maternity low rise pants for most of my pregnancy. That's what was most comfortable for me. But you can wait and see what you feel more comfy in.

Re: Maternity Pants from 2nd to 3rd trimester

Thanks ladies! I was just wondering about the pants, because I have about 5-6 pairs of good low panel pants/jeans, and today I've been feeling a little uncomfortable. Maybe my uterus is stretching, or the baby is moving around a lot. I sure hope I don't have to buy more pants, because I love the ones I have now. Chat Icon

I have both... and the half panel is just more comfy for me. I am also carrying "high" so that may be an issue.

I'm so glad to hear other people felt this way too. I find more of the half panel kind that I thought were supposed to get tucked under your belly but just recently I'm finding that although that leaves my belly unrestricted it feels like it digs in underneath and is not comfortable. But, I'm upset at the idea of having to retire these pants already. I've still got 1/2 way to go, ugh!

Re: Maternity Pants from 2nd to 3rd trimester

I really dislike the idea of the full panel. I'm not sure if that will change down the road, but they just seem uncomfortable to me.

So far (I'm 20 weeks) I've been living in GAP demi-panel jeans, but they've been starting to feel a little tight the last few days. I just bought a pair of GAP roll panel style, and they seem super comfy (for the two seconds I tried them on).

I fear the same thing as you guys... in addition, when I've tried on the full panel pants in my size, the full panel doesn't fit my tummy! Chat Icon Now having to constantly pull up your pants cause there's no grip & the continue to ride down is SO not comfy! Chat Icon Chat Icon
