VENT!
DH and I are so ready to buy a home but there is such garbage out there!!!!!!
Im so frustrated!!!
Somebody list some nice homes for goodness sake!!!

Remember... even a garbage house you can make nice.
With the amount of work that my DW is demanding we do on our house... I almost wished we would have bought a cheaper house!
We are practically gutting out the entire 1st floor. Oh wait... we ARE gutting out the entire 1st floor. 
Well... at least it will look nice once its all done. We are about halfway there.

dont stress! FH and I saw a lot of garbage too, expensive garbage at that... but we found our house and are very happy!
Rich - I hear you! Our house was newly renovated by the seller, but there's still so much I want to do do it! Your DW just wants to make a nice nest for the two of you

We had the same thing, I was so excited the house was in move in condition!! Everything is updated and brand new, yet there is still so much we are doing to the house!!!

Thanks everyone, I know we are fortunate to even be in a position to buy ANY home on LI, but its hard to be optomistic when all you see is junky homes.
We can totally do some work to a place, we just need a good setup to start with.

My DH and I just got an offer on our house, so now we really have to get serious about looking for another house. So far I hate everything that my DH thinks is "fine," he really wants a house on the water and I really want a nice kitchen and updated house. I just don't think we will both find what we are looking for and also have it match our budget.
