Christmas & Gifts
Ok, so this past weekend my MIL asked us what we want for christmas as our first year married. DH says money (which we do need because we want to get a place to own ourselves in March 2007). So about 15 minutes later she asks "What about theater tickets in NYC?". I don't mind that but we do need the cash or at least finish my china (that's what I really really want but DH wants money). I completely understand feeling awkward about giving money. I know my parents will give us a little but also gifts too. Is there another way to suggest money or more things off our bridal registry that we need. I see it, I only have a couple of more years to finish my china pattern. Advice please?

how about ask her for a gift card to Home Depot, BB&B, or Lowe's? Thats what FH and I are aslking for, lol..

we want money money, not a gift card thought. China or money is what we really need. Keep in mind that we are about 99% moving to Nob Hill and its condo that don't need much work at all

I understand the need for $$$ but I also feel like asking for money is kind of rude. JMHO. I would tell her there are still things on your registry that you could use.

One of you already told her you wanted money. She didn't seem to want to do that, so I don't think you can do much about it. If you are pretty sure she won't give you money, then I would tell her that you'd love some of your china.
