12 month check up today
The doctor told me that Jared has the height of an 18 month old and the weight of a 2 year old. (he's 27 pounds and 32 1/2 inches).
He told me to start weaning Jared off the bottle.
Are there any good sippy cups that you used to wean your baby off the bottle?

Wow! Jared is sucha big boy!!
Julia loves the Nuby sippy cups.
ETA: The nubys have a soft tip like the bottle nipple. Might be better for him to start on after the bottle.

Go Jared, big boys are a plus. My 2 year old is 32.5 lbs and 36".
We used the Nuby sippy cups too. Andrew was BF adn never took a bottle, but he took to these cups really well. And they are very easy to clean, which is a plus in my book!

John is being tough about giving up the bottle as well. I tried so many different cups but I think I found the one. Its the Evenflo tumbler. Its long like a bottle.
I cant believe he is 1 already

We liked the Gerber ones with the softer spout and the Nuby but that one took longer to adapt to then the Gerber.

We have some healthy big boys.... at Nate's 12M checkup 2 weeks ago, he was 25 lbs and 33 in.
I can't offer any help on sippy cups. Nate refuses to drink out of one. I've tried the Gerber, Advent, and Nuby. He drinks from a straw when he has juice or water, but won't drink milk in anything but a bottle.

wow - he is big - Kevin had his 16 month visit and he was 26.5 lbs and 32 inches. He was in the 60-ile when he use to always be in the 90-ile!!! But everyone asks me if he is older - so gosh what you must get - lol!!!
Anyway, my transition off the bottle went pretty easy. He wouldn't at first take milk in any old sippy. My dr recommended trying to the straw ones - but he just poured that all over. So I got the NUBY ones and he took to it immediately. In two weeks all day bottles were gone (I transitioned on a week). My dr recommended doing day ones first, then morning then night so I followed that plan. I waited a bit to transition the night one because he started sleeping so well and we were afraid to jinx it...since he had never been a great sleeper and we were enjoying the peace. We just started recently and it has been fine too...not as easy as the bottle but still fine. I think the Nuby was a great transitional sippy! Now he will take milk in any sippy cup and doing great with the straw ones as well!
