NYC Restaurant Rave- SPice Market
I went with a couple of friends for dinner and it was yummy!!!!!!!!
I highly recommend it-
THe chicken samosa appetizer was fantastic, the ginger fried rice- yum!!!!!
Everything was good, I like they meshed thier different flavors together.
THe drinks were not so shabby either
The prices weren't out of control considering what you were getting.

13th Street and btw 9th & 10th ave
Its packed so be prepared to wait by the bar and have some mojitos.
My friend said even if you have reservations- you usually wait a while.
Next time I will make a reservation to see.

I am thinking about going there for my birthday next weekend!!! It is between Spice and another place.
Do you know how they are about accomodating groups of 8-10? I am a little concerned about that.

I"m glad you liked it. I'm not a big Spice Market fan. Food was ok, service was horrible when I went. After waiting 45 minutes for an order, the waiter told us that "good food takes time to prepare." Unless they were fishing for my food, it was completely out of line.

Ive been wanting to go to Spice Market for awhile now! Ive heard great things about the food there. Ive made plans several times to go and it didnt work out. Thanks for the review!

I've been 2 times.
it's great.
if you want to go, eat early- i would say get a reservation for 6pm on like a Monday or Tuesday when it isn't that crowded, that's what we did.

I am not sure- we waited an hour w/o a reservation and there was only 3 of us.
when we met up with my other friends afterwards for drinks elsewhere they said even with a res. you wait for an hour.
Def. put in a res-

Also Son Cubano is great too and thats in the area as well
Northshoregirl- that sucks that the service was bad for you. I hate that!
For us last night they brought out the food @ a decent pace- it was really busy even on a Monday but the waitress was pretty attentive and great with the recommendations.

I've been there a couple of times and I think their food is really good, but their service is always lacking. The first time I was there DH and I had reservations for my b-day and still waited about an hour for our table- I was pizzed and never wanted to go back. The second time I was there was better, we had a private room, which was tight for our party, but it was ok. The service was alright- not great, but not bad. The third time I was ther we had reservations for two connecting private rooms, but they gave half of the room away, so half our party was in a private room and the other half was out in the restaurant- it was ridiculous.
I honestly wouldn't have gone back after the first time if it was up to me- but the 2nd and 3rd times I was there were for bachelorette parties.

Really, I could have sworn that last time I looked they weren't on their list of featured restaurants. I am hoping that is not the case cause I use Opentable frequently and that is a nice idea.
