ouch! need opinions

i have this intense pain on the lower left side/LOWER back area... it has been bothering me all week and i assumed it was AF related cause I had my period since monday but AF is gone and the pain is worse...today i almost started crying on the bus cause at times the pain is sharp and intense, I have no health insurance so I really dont wanna go to the dr advice please on wat it could be

have you taken anything for the pain, like aspirin or motrin? If it persists I would def. have a DR. maybe do X-Rays. Hope you feel better soon.

could be your colon or your kidney
or a pulled muscle

if it's one of the first two, you need to see a doctor
if it's a pulled muscle, just put ice on it.

Sorry you are in pain....
Definitely take some anti-inflammatory/pain medication like Motrin or Aleve. If this doesn't help in a couple of days, you might have to visit the doctor. Also, take this type of medication after food because they might upset your stomach if empty. Also, take lots of water.

michi, you probably pulled something at the gym, or during another physical activity

i'd ice it and take pain meds this weekend -- if it still doesn't lessen or go away by monday, see a doc.

Does it feel like a pulled muscle?? It really sounds like a kidney infection. I think if you are near tears in pain and for this long you should go to the doctors.

it doesnt feel like a pulled muscle..it is like an intense sharp pain but at times it feels like its wrapping around my lower stomach... this is def tmi but could it be like a gas bubble????

is it back to front or front to back.

There is not much on your lower left side.

Front: Ovary or Colon
Back Kidney
Either: Muscle pain

Be watchful of any rise in temperature or prolonged pain. You may have to see a doctor.

Michi, I should not talk since I never take care of myself () but if it feels more "internal" ...then I think you should see a doctor ...

you have so many problems with your tummy, I'd hate to see that this is something that will only get worse, ya know?

It does sound like its in your kidney area, I think you'd KNOW if it was a kidney stone because the pain would be unbearable.. but the pain you seem to be having sounds bad enough, please dont let it get worse

edited : you said you just got your AF? I was thinking maybe (as Elbee said) it could be a cyst on your ovary, but I dont know for sure if you'd get the pain in your back so severely with that.. with my endo I had pain in my back but that is an entirely diff. condition (though it was affecting my ovaries too)

hmmm..all of these things... it is justhard to describe the weird pain, all i kno is by tomorrow if it isnt gone i def hafta go to the dr, cause it just feels "off" ya kno

My sister had an UTI that she let go then about a week later she got this horrible pain her back. She thought that she had pulled something. She was taking advil & thought that she had taken so much that it was making her throw up. Well her BF took her to the ER it turned out that the UTI had moved into her kidneys. She had a major kidney infection this was the reason she was throwing up. She spent 24 hours in the ER on a morphine drip and heavy duty antibiotics.

So long story short please go get it checked. Is there a walk in clinic that you can go to?

When did your period end? I ask bc if it was about 2 weeks ago it could be Mittleschmirtz (I know sounds like an old german lady) it's just a "clinical" name for painful ovulation. I'm thinking that's why I doubled over last month. Is it by your ovary?

I know the not going to the dr feeling - i have double insurance but was trying to avoid the ER last week bc I didn't want to have to ante up for the co-pay. You're better safe than sorry though.

Could also be diverticulitis. My husband has this. This is when little pockets form in a part of your colon or intestine. He has a similar pain. Try some metamucil-can't hurt but you do need to see a DR!! Try to find a low cost clinic or check out -low cost health insuranceins

Mich - any UTI infections?

Could be that it spread to kidneys. This is how my sister felt when she had a bad UTI.
