Re: Strep B
Its just a virus/bacteria that some women carry. I tested positive for it while pregnant with Jack. It is really nothing to worry about. They will just give you antibiotics at delivery to make sure you don't pass it to the baby.

Re: Strep B
It's a normal bacteria that everyone carries. Sometimes it's present in the vaginal area, sometimes it's not -- it cycles. If it's present during bith it can be passed to a baby. They culture for this around 37 weeks and will give you anitbiotics during birth if your culture comes back positive to try to prevent your baby from getting it. I had a UTI which had Strep B in it earlier in my pregnancy, so they are treating me as Strep B positive so I will get a round of antibiotics when go into labor.

Re: Strep B
They werent trying to do the strep B culture bc I am only 29 weeks but since I felt like I had the stomach virus ...I guess they tested all avenues. This one came back positive (unrelated to how I feel though). I guess my question is can it go away since I still have 11 weeks? Will they test again at the usual 36 weeks? Thanks for the info girls

Re: Strep B
You will probably just be labeled as postivie since I think it is a bacteria that is always in the body. I could be wong though.
