what exactly do they do??? Jusr curious I have a few weeks before they start.

It may be a bit uncomfortable, if not painful. They check for dilation, effacement and the position of the baby. You may feel a bit crampy afterwards and may even see a bit of blood.. but it's normal.

OH boy do they get up there
I had one when I went into the hospital for contractions.. It wasn't so bad until they got to my cervix. My this point in pg, your cervix is soo high.
I hope it drops down a little by that time 35-36 weeks!!

My internal appointments have taken about 5 minutes and then im out of there - they will weigh you, check for the babies heartbeat and then the doctor will insert his fingers up your crotch. They will go pretty up there and let you know if any progression has begun.
Its a bit uncomfortable for a few seconds - but at that point you are so anxious to hear whether there is any progression going on - you really don't care about anything else. Then off you are to come back the following week. Good luck!

They will check for the heartbeat with an internal sonogram--a little bit painful.
