what kind of coat to wear with a full length gown?
going to a wedding on Saturday...
wearing a full length black gown....
can I get away with wearing my knee-length black wool coat....(I'm pretty sure the answer is "no", but it can't hurt to try, right  )

I would not go get a new coat to wear w/ a night gown. But I dodn't go to too many dressy affairs. I would just walk in w/out a coat in the name of beauty hurts.

I've done it. I'm too cheap to buy a dress coat. I take my coat very quickly though.

I usually go sans coat when I have to wear a full length. If I don't have a shawl, I just s-ck it up for the couple of minutes going from the car to the building.

me too.
I also took a long wool cape my mom had. That usually does the trick.
