Re: new restaurant in Roosevelt Field
the big diner place? with all of the gold decorations?
we went there for lunch one day - the food was good, the service stunk, the dessert was super-yummy!
it's owned by the same people as the cheesecake factory

Does that mean similar two hour wait times?
I can never go to the Cheesecake Factory cause the wait is just too long for my taste. I can't wait for more than 20 minutes to eat somewhere..

There was no wait when we had lunch there, but I could totally see there being a ridiculous wait on nights & weekends.

Re: new restaurant in Roosevelt Field
We went to Grand Luxe twice last week! I think I'm addicted. It is very very similar to Cheesecake. Both times we went the service and food were excellent and ohhh that bread!!

My little sister works there. This is the first waitress job that she nor her family receive any discounts.
Other restaurants she would get 50% offf, family 30% off.

Are you kidding? That is so not right. Not even during a Monday lunch? I worked for Outback Steakhouse all through college and we got half off, but you weren't supposed to get the discount if the restaurant was on a wait (this was never enforced).

AMEN! I feel the same way - I don't think any restaurant is worth waiting as long as I have waited with friends at the Cheesecake Factory. The wait is why I never go there, but I avoid restaurants in that whole Roosevelt Field/Source mall area on weekends for the same reason.

Same for me.... I despise Cheesecake Factory. I don't think the food is that good to wait 2 hours. I do love Grand Luxe though usually little or no wait and the menu is better IMO.

Re: new restaurant in Roosevelt Field
I've found during the week after 7pm is a good time w/ no wait. We attempted Saturday afternoon, we circled the parking lot and left. Weekends are definitely out for that place unless you want to wait, and when it comes to food, I wait for Noone!
But I must say, its a nice place, and Im on a mission to sit at the bar one day to see the bartender make a particular Martini.
