ok i have a situation(pics added now)
This morning i was walking to my car and this little orange/white cat i think he is a year old and the last person who had him desserted him. i gave him water but i dont have any cat food what should i do? i named him peaches and cream because of his color i know silly name but its a temp name i dont want to call him cat. but he is sitting on my propertie now and i guess he likes hanging out with me. but i cant keep him its $500 dollars for a whole year for a pet I wish i could take him. if i find a house and no one still wants him he is moine. but now we seriously need to find him a home otherwise he wont survive this winter. i just took a pic i will download it and show it to ya's. they are trying to get intouch with the owner that moved out of here before they do that. can you give me the number incase it does not work out? thanks.

Honestly if the owner left her behind they probably don't want her. A pet isn't something you just forget. Could you bring it in? In my old apt, people often hid cats without paying the fee. Do you have any cold cuts or meat you could give it? I would not call a shelter. If it's a kill shelter, the odds of adoption are not good. Living as a wild cat would at least be a life.

I agree- I don't think they just "forgot" her. Poor little thing.
Try the Freeport Humane Society, it's a no kill shelter.

Do you have any tuna in the house or chicken of any kind? I would hit a 7-11 and get a few cans or even some dry food.

I agree! Pick up cheap cans at 7-11 or even CVS..Stop and Shop is very cheap!

personally, unless you are willing to take the cat in, i wouldn't feed it. that will cause it to get attached to you and it might cause problems if you can't bring it inside...
as hard as it is, i would say not to feed it....cats are VERY good at finding their own food and surviving on their own.

thanks lori I know you are right. but i feel like i should do something. i know everyone in this complex is feeding him so thank god he wont get so attached to me he will just go to the next person. but if i had a house right now he would be Mine! thank you all for your help and advice. So cute..looks like a kitten. I wish I could have another, but we have two already and can't afford another. Try a shelter..that kitty looks young and will be adopted. When we went to get our last cat, orange kitties were in popular demand. Maybe put a signs up around town on some poles. Good Luck.

Aww maybe they did out of this rain. If the previous owners had him do you think they were sneaking him in? the poor thing could be hiding to stay warm and dry too. I feel so bad, please call Maria at 516 333 1123 at the westbury animal hospital they take in cats and maybe with a small donation offered they would take him asap. I wish I could but I have 5 and 2 big dogs and DH will throw me out if I bring home another pet. Let me know what they say, when you call.
