Coming off the pill...what happens?

Hey ladies! I am not TTC just yet, but this week is my last week on the pill.

Can you share your body changes post BCP? DId you gain or lose weight? Suffer from worse PMS? Experience a change in your emotions?

I personally think I gained weight while on the pill and I also feel that my sex drive was lower and my emotions didn't feel as intense as they did pre-BCP.

I would love to know what has happened to you now that you are off the pill. Thanks!

I wasn't on it for very long, but I didn't have any side effects.

I am I have been off the pill for over a month after being on it for about 12 years. I have had no side effects except i am 38 now with no AF.

I was on Yasmin for about 3 years. Same as you on BCP, no sex drive, no PMS, I lost weight on BCP though, my cycle was like clockwork and my skin was soo clear.

When I went off, I gained a little weight, broke out like crazy and my cycles were a little wacky. Before I was on BCP my cycles were like clockwork too, when i went off, all over the place, 39 days, 29 days, 31 days, I never had the same cycle each month. Asked my dr about that, he said could just be a coicidence and change in my cycle could have happened anyways-not sure if i believed him.

The best part of not being on them-which DH absolutelyl loves, MY SEX DRIVE WAS BACK!! I actually enjoyed sex, having it, and even initiated it. I would never go back on those chemicals again.

I went off Dec of last year, we starting trying April on this year, pg in July-ended in m/c, pg immediately after m/c in August and here i sit 13 weeks pg now!

nothing really crazy happened with me that I notice.
I didn't gain/lose weight.
i've been emotionally the same
the only thing is not my period is all over the place..

My cycles were not as regular as they had been when I was on the pill. I was weepy and emotional for about two weeks and then that went away, thank goodness!

when I went off the pill, I lost weight, lost some boob-age, and has some acne (which fortunately was temporary).

My sex drive increased, but my cycles were all screwed up - I was only getting a period every other month and didn't know if I was ovulating at all.

I'm so nervous about the effects going off will have on me. I have AF now but starting this weekend, no more pill after 7 years. I just fear the acne and weight gain. Although i really didn't have any effects when I started taking it 7 years ago. but this also means poor DH will have to use a condom until we're ready to really start trying :)

I had no side effects, I was on the pill for about 13 years. I got my period 30 days after I stopped.

I didn't gain any weight and I wasn't emotional but I did have a lot of cramping that first month off the pill and a very heavy AF.

I just got AF after coming off the pill last month (was on it for 6 years). It came on CD30. I noitced immediately after coming off that I was less moody. My sex drive came back after about a week and my headaches went away which is what I appreciate the most. I used to get headaches a couple of times a week now the first headache I got was right before I got AF which was my norm. I didn't realize how negatively bcp affected me until I came off it.

I've only been off the pill for a few weeks, havn't gotten AF yet, but I haven't noticed too much of a difference so far. I can tell you that my sex drive is through the roof!

I have two pills left and then we will see how my body reacts.

This was my first time off the pill in 4 years... I just went off this month and AF showed up on the 27th day. Everything seems pretty normal except AF is a little heavier than it was on the pill.
My doctor told me that my body should go back to what it was before I went on the pill immediately. So far that's what has happened.

I have to admit I'm missing the pill a little...if AF is going to come, I like knowing when and being prepared for it. Oh well... hopefully once I have a baby I can go back on it quickly!

I was always irregular and now that I am off the pill since Jan I got my friend 2!! So i have to go to the doctor to see what is going on! she did tell me it could take up to a year to get a cycle going!!!!

i was on the pill for 10 years and just went off last october...so since my body is pretty much back to normal..My cycle is regular...i dont think i've really gained any weight..and my face doesnt break out any more/less than before...

I was on some form of bcp for 10 years. I was irregular before I went on the pill...and I am a bit irregular now - in that one month my cycle is 28-31 days and the next month it's anywhere from 33-45 days.

I journal my cycles so it's been easy to decipher what each "symptom" means and when I will be getting my period.

My sex drive definitely climbed back up - but nowhere near what it was back when I was 22

I had gone off the pill once for an entire year and it took a good 7 months for me to get regular. I think I even missed an entire month. Then I went back on it.

I don't know b/c I haven't been on it for years but I hear that you are REALLY fertile coming off the pill
