Sharp pain--anyone ever have this?
I am a little over 24 weeks. Maybe once a week for the past three weeks I've experienced this sharp pain to the right of my belly button and just above. It coincides with the top of the uterus I think and it is worse when I touch the area. I'm having it right now and it's been going on for about 4-5 hours. It's not excruciating, just sharp.
I was just at the doctor last night and I didn't even think to ask her, but of course it happens now. Everything was fine, baby, heartbeat, measurement of uterus, etc...
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Cause for concern?

So far I haven't experienced anything like this (I'm 14 weeks)...but, I guess maybe you should call the Dr. and see what they say. I know you said that the heartbeat and all was ok...but, I don't think it will hurt to call the office.
I'm sure everything is fine and it's either stretching pains or maybe the baby is pressing on something.

I'm in my 22nd week and haven't had anything like that. Sometimes my belly button tingles. The only thing that sounds concerning is that it hurts when you touch it. Just call the dr and ask! Let us know...

I get sharp pains all the time. If it come sand gies based on you touchng it it is usually no reason for concern, it;s probably just the baby pushing againist your nerves and ligaments, but call the doc if it makes you feel better, it cab also be gas pains, they are PAINFUL

Re: Sharp pain--anyone ever have this?
Thanks ladies!
The pain continued at least through midnight, but seemed to have mostly disappeared by morning. I did call the doctor this morning and she didn't seem to think it was a major problem. She said "belly button complaints" are common for whatever reason and that the baby could be positioned funny or a nerve was being pinched.
