Baby Gas
My son of 6 weeks has a hard time passing gas and Mylacon is not working neither is the soy formula. Has anyone ever had this problem before and if so what did you do about it?

Re: Baby Gas
how often do you use the Mylicon drops? I was having the same problem with DD and the dr said to use it at every single feeding - its helped a lot so I am continuing it!
ETA: I also "pump her legs" - make the motion like she is riding a bike and that helps a lot to. the dr recommended this as well.
good luck!

Re: Baby Gas
The Mylicon does NOTHING for Ava, and we were giving her the max dose. I usually give her a warm bath and that helps, or a warm compress on her belly, or holding her over my knees or high on my shoulder. Or pumping her legs (doesn't do much for her, though).

Re: Baby Gas
DD had a hard passing it too....
have you tried Dr browns bottles to eliminate the air going in?
Sometimes they just grow out of it and it's a waiting game, but 6 weeks is a magic age....things start to change.

Re: Baby Gas
I used to rub her belly lightly while she was lying on her back for a few minutes then put her back on my shoulder. That would sometimes help. I have also tried a few teaspoons of warm sterilized water in a bottle; and I have also given her the Mylicon along with Gripe Water. It can be so upsetting to see them in so much pain. I hope it gets better soon.

Re: Baby Gas
time...
my dr. said the Mylicon drops are tricky, in order for them to work one really needs to have perfect timing with feedings and dosage. i have yet to try them and DD has quite the atomic behind.
i have found that as the weeks progress it gets better and better (DD is 6 weeks). i also have noticed that DD is burping more and i make more attempts to get gas out that way prior to it making it's way down...
when she has her spells i just hold and comfort her. i try the belly rubs and legs bicycling as well.
