thats almost 15% less than original asking
so that 20% below asking offer doesn't seem so impossible anymore.

I know. I just don't get it It looks like a nice house and a nice size backyard for over here. It is weird for Malverne. Prices have been dropping but not this much.
Maybe there is something structurally wrong with it.
maybe they need to move before school starts. it's already 1/2 way through July

I've heard that...I didn't know until someone recently said they were looking for a house in Lynbrook and had to have Lynbrook SD because Malverne is the pits...
I had no clue...Tell me more...
I know NOTHING about schools down here.

People say they are bad simply because Lakeview which is an adjacent town also goes to Malverne and is prodominetly is a black neighborhood. I think it is awful that people do this.
Our JHS and HS have won awards almost every year for excellence. I always hate defending Malverne. It get's old
ETA: If it was that bad do you really think I would spend so much money for a house here and spend sooo much on taxes
 I can imagine it can get annoying...especially being you live there. You obviously wouldn't live there if it wasn't a good SD. I know the town because I live in FS, but I didn't grow up here...that's why I asked.
It's "good" to know that people are so simple minded down here....and can claim a SD is bad because of race.

Keep me posted if any other houses drop like that! I'd love to stay near FS, since I doubt we can afford anything in here....

I live in Franklin Square also (in the Dogwood area {Morton Estates}). I LOVE it here. We've been here for over 8.5 years.
Malverne is an adorable little town. I love going to their Easter Egg hunt every year in the "town". Soooo cute!

Do you know if Lutz St is part of the Dogwood section? I just saw a beautiful house on MLS there.
I believe Lutz Street is over by St. Catherine's RC Church....it's North of Hempstead Tpke. near New Hyde Park Rd...
ETA: if that's the street I'm thinking about it's not apart of the Dogwood Section.

My hubby, SIL, MIL & FIL are all products are Malverne HS. SIL has a Double Masters from UPenn  Every school is what you make of it. However Lynbrook SD is preferred over Malverne for alot of homeowners. My SIL praises it, hubby couldn't wait to move out of Lynbrook, he didn't like the racial tension in the school when he was in it (this was 13 yrs ago).......??? The village of Malverne is lovely in itself....... Hell the taxes are worth John Peters butcher & The Malverne bakery

Love the Malverne Bakery. I drive 40 minutes just to get mystuff there! (I used to live closer, in ER).
