Constipation relief needed ASAP!!!
I need something to help Caiden with constipation. He's been hysterical crying on and off for 2 hours now. Does anyone know what I can give him to help! Thanks so much!

They have "Little Tummies" which is a laxative for kids - I gave Katie some and it worked for her - although I had to give her such a little amount that it took about 24 hrs to work.
My girl friend swears by giving her son prunes!

Have you tried "bicycling" his legs? Do you have any Mylicon or Gripe water? I usually give Christopher 1 tsp of corn syrup in his bottle and it gets him regular by the following day. You can give a tsp with up to 3 bottles a day. I hope he feels better soon

Try giving him water, warm if he will take it. Also prune juice works for overnight relief.

Prunes work wonders for us. Miranda was allowed to get Milk of Magnesia also. Maybe you can call your ped and see if they will OK that for him.

Re: Constipation relief needed ASAP!!!
when Ryan was about a week old he was badly constipated and crying. The Dr. said I could cut a glyceran saposatory (not sure of spelling) in half. I was so upset doing it but it worked instantly and he was so happy.

Either prunes or the "thermometer" option.

Re: Constipation relief needed ASAP!!!
I feel like I can write a book about constipation. Emily has had such issues. My dr. has recommended, benefiber, prune juice and apricots. Not all together though. Good luck. My daughter's constipation has gotten so bad that she's going to see a pediatric GI. She screams and cries everytime she goes. She's 21 months old. It breaks my heart. Good luck. Poopie vibes for Caiden!!!!!

I think the fastest relief is a glycerin supository. Hope he feels better soon!

Re: Constipation relief needed ASAP!!!
There are lots of options to try to get them to go and be regular (prunes, fiber, pears ect) But when you are in a moment of true desperation (moms who have been there know exactly what I mean) you can use BabyLax, it is the same as a glycerin suppositiory but it is liquid and works almost immediately. You can get it at CVS or even drugstore.com
Claire has had lots of constipation problems and we have tried it all and see a GI doctor. Also Little Tummys laxative is a vegetable senna base so it is safe, usually works in a 6 hours or so.

I agree - it worked great for Ryan. He was 1 day short of a week so I think it would be ok. You could always check with your Ped.
Good Luck
