20 months old - buh bye napping?

this is the second time in less than a week that Aidan is just refusing to sleep.

Normal routine is "C'mon time for a nap" he grabs Froggie and heads for the stairs, then goes down after about 5-10 minutes of chatting. Naps for 1.5-3hours

for almost 3 hours now, he will not sleep.

Think he is pushing naptime back to later in the day? OR doing away with it? Or just doesn't feel like it today?

Jillian takes one nap a day and each day it varies from 1-2.5 hours.. and the time is always late afternoon. 2pm on She does go to sleep around 9 but the last week she napped from 4-6 and still slept the entire night...today is an exception .. she does not feel good and has been asleep for over 2 hours...

I've had that happen too, starting around 20 months. Gabriella is now 21 months and slowly seeming to nap less and less. I still try to put her up in her crib to at least get some important down time. There have been many times I've heard her just playing and not napping though.

Hmm he does wake up at 8:30am so maybe 12:30 naptime does not cut it anymore. He seemed a little cranky so I thought he was tired maybe he's bored! LOL I think tomorrow I will wait til 1 or 2pm to go in for the nap, I just don't want him to be overtired either. KWIM?

At around 3:30 he eventually went to sleep after having lunch, and he's still sleeping so maybe the later time will work for us.

and I agree with the quiet time, I know he enjoys it too!

Patrick was later in the afternoon around 2 at that age. I remember he'd still be sleeping when John got home.
