Hair dying question for a virgin...need help

I want to dye my hair a few shades darker. I don't want it to be permanent...I guess just a rinse or something.

Has anyone done anything like this? how is the "effect"? should I bother going to a salon?

I have naturally medium brown hair with a lot of lighter highlights (NATURALLY) the hair on my head has never been dyed. (I dyed my hair to DISASTROUS ends about 6 or 7 years ago...it has since grown out and been cut off.)

any color suggestions also? I am pastey LOL

this is me...don't mind the face. I was sick and pis$y with my husband LOL

nooooo don't touch your hair! the color is perfect.

but if you NEED to, I would say to do a wash-out color, nothing permanent....maybe one of those "coloring" shampoos.

head to a really good salon and ask them what they think

if there is someones hair you like- in a maganize on whatnot, i would bring that in so they can tailor it to you

as pretty as your hair is- you seem to want a change -so go for it!

I think your color is beautiful the way it is. But if you want to make it darker, go to a salon. I tried to make mine darker to cover up some uneven color, and it came out a little harsh looking.

First, you have mislead the masses.

As for your hair, I agree with Miss, definitley head to a salon and see what they think. Once you start messing with the at-home dyes, it can get ugly fast.

I LOVE your hair color Jess...

but if you want to experiment without going permament go to a salon and get a gloss...thats what I do...it will darken your hair (depending on the shade you choose) as well as gloss it - but its not permament...it eventually fades...I try and go every four- six months and get one...I ususallly get a clear gloss - just to shine my hair but once in awhile I'll darken it - ususally in the winter time...

I agree with everyone else - your hair is gorgeous.

But if you're going to go darker I would go a little auburn with it too.

And salon is the way to go!!

Jess I suggest going to a salon and getting it done.

This color would look great on you!
