Please tell me if I am wrong...
We booked Gianna's bday party over 3 weeks ago for 1/28 (her bday is 1/25) my MIL called me on Wed. saying they booked a trip to go visit DH's uncle in FL from 1/22-2/1 and they did not relize they would be gone for Gianna's Bday nad Bday party. They asked if we could call the place where we are having the party so we can change the date. ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME!?!?!?! I told DH NO WAY!!! He wants to call and see if we can change the date...their is no way I will do this...they booked their tickets over 2 weeks after they knew we booked the party...I told him I would rather cancel the party all together rather than change the date...they should change their date not me!! Please tell me if I over if I am wrong...I am so pi$$ed that they would ask me to change the date and I am so pi$$ed at DH that he would even cosider this

You are totally not wrong! They should change their date, they knew about her party. It would not be fair to you. Its your daughters birthday, its more important then going to visit an uncle in florida! JMO

If they knew about hte party first then they should cancel the trip and how can they ask you to change the date when you sent out invites to people and are having a nice b-day party do they not realize that you would have to call all these people and tell them that the party is changed. I dont' think your over reacting at all
I would keep the date and tell them that you had called and you can't change the date

OMG how rude of them. First of all how can they forget her birthday and book a trip during that week, You should NOT change the date, it is up to them to change their plans or just not come!

I would not change the date. Let them change their airline tickets. This is their granddaughters party. excuse my language but screw them. I remember my son's first b-day party - I inlaws wanted to leave before cake so they can go to a stupid temple fuction. My mom told them off saying this is your grandchild his 1st birthday only happends once temple is ther all the time.

My inlaws did the same thing not only DH mother and step dad but his family that showed up which was his mother stepdad sister and her hubby and their daughter the rest of the family told us they were going to come and never even showed up
