DH and I just got back from Ocean city, MD. We also could only go 3 days (4th of july weekend) and I needed somewhere within distance bc I am preggo. The trip was awesome. so much fun. The beach was great, the boardwalk, the food, aside from that there were things I couldnt do like parasailing, amusement rides, water parks etc..

Shelter Island, you could stop at some of the wineries along the way.

Cape May, NJ is beautiful. It's a historic Victorian town and also has a great beach. I loved it! Chat Icon

DH and I just went to Mohegan Sun for 2 nights. It was great! We took the ferry which was nice too. Besides the casinos there is an indoor/outdoor pool and spa...i want to go back already!!

Re: Looking for qucik getaway for 2 nights

what about the hotel you stayed in your wedding night? I know it's not far, but it's time "away" (from your every day life) and it also has some good memories. I know it's not "away" away, but it can still be fun!!

That's what we did for our 1 year because DH had to work the next day. We checked in the night before our anniversary. We got a room with a jacuzzi and we pretty much spent some good quality time with each other. It was more fun than I thought it would be and the ride home went fast Chat Icon

I second this! I live in MD and wish I could get to Ocean City more often. Really good crab and saltwater taffy! Chat Icon

Lake George is fun! its a bit of a ride though but worth it! We used to go all the time, neptunes is a really fun bar and you can rent a small boat for the day. theres also a million mini golf places too. Also theres some outlets to do alittle shopping Chat Icon
theres a bunch of hotels that arent too much money. do a search on lake george and a whole bunch will come up!

Re: Looking for qucik getaway for 2 nights

Newport, RI was a really nice weekend getaway for us. The mansions are beautiful and there's a lot to do (wharf area, shopping, museum, golf).

I would like to go back there someday.
