Who's kids have a TV in their room...
how old are they, and do you have "rules" for it??

Heck no! My kids are too little to have a TV of their own. Maybe when Emmas like 12 she can have a TV and i will certainly have a parental control on that!

My son is 2 1/2 years old and he has his own tv in his room.
He can not watch regular tv and obviously not cable. Its the kind with the built in VCR and he had a bunch of tapes that he loved ( from watching them at his grandparents house) that he wanted to watch at home.
He does not turn it on by himself and asks us to put it on when he wants to watch a particular tape. I don't see anything wrong with that at all.
The only real "rule" is no watching tapes at bedtime. His room is a place to sleep at night not sit up and watch barney or the wiggles.
Its actually cute b/c when my nephew comes over and they go play in his room they pull out the two little chairs and sit and watch wiggles and sing and dance along!!!

Just to answer my own ??...Scotty does not, and I told him MAYBE when he's 10 he can get one (he's 7 now)...it just seems like he's totally in the minority

My daughter's room will not have a TV in it at any point nor will any future children.
We just don't believe in TV in the bedroom. We don't have one in ours so they don't need one either.

Patrick has one in his room. It's the one w/ a TV/VCR. He is limitlted to what I let him watch. certain cartoons do not meet my approval.
When he's in a time out or in trouble for the day I take out the cable card & he can't watch anything!

My son was given one when he was 5, to be honest he rarely watches it, maybe at night for a little while before bed. He is 7 now.

My step-daughter is 9...she does not have a TV in her room.
When we used to live in the condo and she used to visit on weekends (she now lives with us), she would stay in the guestroom. There was a TV in there. She used to watch TV (Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network) and I would put the timer on and take the remote control. When the timer went off...she would turn the TV back on and leave it on or not get enough sleep. When we moved into the new house and she was living with us full time....she got no TV and I don't see us putting one in anytime in the near future.

My kids won't have a TV in their room. If they want to watch TV, they can come and watch it with the family.

Marissa is gonna be one and she does not have a TV in her room she watches her tapes and cartoons in the living room
