Question about Spotting...

A co-worker of mine was telling me about a cousin of hers that is about 6 weeks pregnant and that the girl is a little concerned because she has been noticing this brown spot. She went to the doctor and they did an internal sonongram and there was no sign of blood. Yet in the mornings is when she notices the brown spot. This has been going on for a couple of days.

Could this girl be miscarrying or is this brown spotting normal? I told my co-worker that her cousin should be more concerned if it the bleeding gets more heavier. She is not experiencing any pain at the moment.

What do you ladies think?

Re: Question about Spotting...

I spotted almost my entire pregnancy and I have a happy and healthy baby boy who is 4 months old. Mine started as brown, sometimes was bright red and other times just a tanish/orangish color. I would tell her to call her doc as often as she feels necessary. I had so many sonograms throughout my pregnancy. I wish her luck.

Re: Question about Spotting...

I had brown to red spotting around the same time, it lasted a few days but the sonos were fine. I'm 34 weeks now with a healthy baby!

Re: Question about Spotting...

I have read that brown spotting is old blood. Also I did M/C and my Dr told me bleeding, while not "normal" is common and is usually ok as long as it is not accompanied by heavy cramping

Re: Question about Spotting...

Spotting is more normal that you would think. I spotted in both my pregnancies up to about 14 weeks. Not all the time, but every now and then it would appear. I've had 2 perfect pregnancies so far.

Re: Question about Spotting...

Yeah that's what I told my co-worker that I heard spotting was normal. I've never had it but have heard of it.

See here's the thing, this has been happening everyday from what I've heard. So for those of you that it happened to did you get the spotting everyday.

Re: Question about Spotting...

I have had it every day for almost a week now. I am only 7 5/7 wks so I don't know what it means yet.

The midwife was more concerned about my blood type than the spotting. She didn't seem too concerned and even said I can do light exercise if I want to...she didn't even think a sono was necessary at this time. Only to come in if it turns bright red or I see tissue...

Re: Question about Spotting...

Well I asked my co-worker this morning how her cousin was feeling and she said that her cousin is feeling fine, no pain, and she did see a light spotting again but this time it was like a yellowish color.

What could that mean?
