It is fine. I've known a lot of people who had cats while they were pregnant. Yes, just don't clean the litter (My SIL really liked that part!!Chat Icon )

Thank you for answering me - I started freaking out - is it ok if the box is in a far corner of our bedroom? We have no other place for it except the kitchen or the living room - which is NOT gonna happen!!!

It's fine. Most people who are longtime cats owners already have an immunity to toxoplasmosis. It is still wise to not change the boxes.

My SIL has four cats and my neice is a fantastic little baby who is fine Chat Icon

If you have had the cat for a while, you are probably already immune to those problems, but if you are nervous, just make DH clean the litter for you.

Yes, and for further peace of mind you can get your kitty tested since not all cats have toxoplasmosis. But this is a great time to have your DH change the litter for you! Chat Icon Chat Icon

You can have a cat, but unless you know that the cat is toxoplasmosis free, don't touch thel litter.

Also, you can't touch soil. you can get toxoplasmosis from soi too.

I think its fine.....I have two cats and had them when I was pregnant and still have them now. Now that my daughter is almost a year old she thinks its fun to chase them around.

If you want to be certain have your dr test you for toxoplasmosis. Mine did and I was fine so even though my cats are free of it too- I didnt tell my DH that Chat Icon
