what should she buy - kitty formula? She found it abandoned .

I would call a vet or a PetCo or something like that.. she should probably get him checked out at a vet though.

My sister found two kittens in one of those drains in the road a while back, and she took them in.
They were about 4 weeks when she found them I think, and she brought them to the vet, who was able to help her get them what they needed.
She had another cat, so the kittens had to stay seperate from the other cat, because of diseases, for 12 weeks I think.
Both of her kittens are now grown and doing great!

you can get food from the vet or even Petco sells kitty formula and the food stores do now too. She will need to feed it with a dropper or a spoon, it wont be able to lick it up from a bowl yet.

We have had kittens as early as 2 weeks abandoned...still have two of them, they do fine...you can only feed them a small amount and often. 4 weeks is ok...it should start being able to drink froma bowl in 1-2 weeks...but no soft food till about 7 weeks , its too harsh.

When a kittne srinks from the mom it actually doesnt get that much thats why you have to limit the amount it gets at first, it will get bloated very fast.

def contact a vet. The kitten may have worms and have to be dewormed. It could also have fleas and need special flea treatment because it is so young.

I think it is great that she is helping the kitten!!
