The Blame Game at work...
How do you handle this? When someone consistently tries to make you a scapegoat for their own shortcomings....
I want to handle it without seeming like a tattletale to my boss.

Re: The Blame Game at work...
That is a hard situation...
I would be honest and talk with your boss.
You can easially tell them that you are NOT there to point out what others are doing, but you do not want to be associated with their shortcomings.
I would respect anyone of my employee's if they were honest with me.
Honestly...why should someone else give you a name with your boss? That's not fair.

I always try to put a "sweet" flip to it, and never accuse, just state the facts, and don't forget that your boss already knows the job you can do, so don't sweat it if you know you're in the right. Good luck!

Sometimes the only way is to talk to your boss . . . .

What about email - you can print them as "proof."

This guy does not read his e-mail or answer his phone. And then blames me and says "he didn't know" and that I never told him. Puh-leeezz!!!
