ok more 1st bday talk- but I am upset and need some encouragement and ideas...
We were going to have an outdoor bday party - a Luau - I had a ton of great and creative ideas...but for 1 million reasons that are too long to to into I think we have to change our plan at have it at a restaurant.
Having it at a restaurant isn't a bad idea at all - but not what I was picturing so I am a little bummed about it.
I think we are going to do it at an italian place...so what kind of "theme" can I do?? I want something fun and girly to be creative with...help me think of some fun ideas!

a diva party....stars, glitter, feather boas, etc.
a princess party: tiaras, magic wands, glitter, fairy dust
magic garden: flowers, fairies, animals (not real of course), lots of greenery, lattice work, etc.
kids love face painting and girls love dressing up!
ETA: and why can't you do a luau at a restaurant? so the food doesn't mesh...but the decorations and musci should be more than plenty for a good time!

we decided to wait on this until she gets a older and can remember and enjoy it.

All of Shana's ideas are great...and since you're going Italian maybe you can do some signs or favors or something that say "Ciao Bella".
ETA: Princess party, but call it "Principesa".

How many people? I like La Villiani a lot (Larkfield). I have to agree - you're better off saving the themes for when she's older.

You can do a heart theme.. amore= hearts
this way you can keep the red theme and keep it very simple with hearts and there are lots of things out there. You do not have to go with a traditional 1st birthday party theme.. like a character . This way you can customize your favors etc around the heart theme...
you can do hot pink or red... etc..

Good luck and do not stress... Like you sadi she is not going to remember anyway.. and peole are going to be there to celebrate your daughters first birthday..
Also A resturant is ALOT less stress if you are planning alot of people....
