Sick Days for interviews?

I've used both my personal days for weddings in NY, but I need to interview at individual schools for my new job... and all of the schools are at least an hour away...

I hate to lie and say I'm sick to take the day off, but it's a big to do to get granted a personal day without pay. And I really need to interview, or I may not get a position I want.

Is it wrong to call in sick to go on interviews? Thanks!

ETA: I have 8 sick days that I'll loose if I don't use them since I'm leaving the district.

No it's not wrong....I had to do that last year because we had to give an explanation for our personal days. Good LUCK! JOB DUST

I dont think its bad either... you do what you have to do. Go on the interview and don't feel guilty about calling out!!!!

I just call sick days "PTO" (paid time off) days...makes me feel a lot LESS guilty when I use them when not actually sick

Thanks! I like the PTO idea... I'm going to need a few days away from the kids once tests are over
