Got the "green light"...Question for the c-section mamas
To start exercising and I can finally get some!
I have a question for the c-section mamas. When you first started to exercise, what did you do? I want to do pilates again. How did it feel to do core work?
TMI, but did having sex feel painful? Thanks!!

Re: Got the "green light"...Question for the c-section mamas
resuming "activities" with DH wasnt too painful. It felt weird on my scar but nothing I couldnt handle.
Core work on the other hand bothered me, and still does. If I lay on my back and raist my legs and lower them to the floor when I am about 30 degrees from the floor I get a sharp pain in my incision area. I guess I needed to work up those muscles. Other than that alls well.

Re: Got the "green light"...Question for the c-section mamas
Although I'm not even two weeks out of my c-section, I've been trying to use my stomache muscles as much as I can without overdoing it. I make sure to try to use them when pulling myself up from bed or the couch, and I try to hold them in when I'm standing, etc. I am careful not to overdo it, but it really seems to be helping get some of my strength back.

Re: Got the "green light"...Question for the c-section mamas
I'm curious to know everyone's responses to this as well....
but one other question: why does every doctor vary in their sex/exercise response? For instance, my doc said that I could have sex at 6 weeks, but should wait till 12 ( ) to exercise (strenous)... My pg wasn't complicated, and I'm in perfect health, so why?

Re: Got the "green light"...Question for the c-section mamas
I had a c/s for my first, and well, that was 2 years ago and I haven't exercised since then so I can't help you there. But as far as resuming activities, no problems at all, I just made sure he didn't put too much pressure on my scar.

My doctor told me that exercise was ok as long as i promised to stop if it hurt near/around my incision. He told me to take it easy at first, which I plan to do.
