Phone problem!!!! UGH!!! - Kinda long

DH and I were at my ILs from Wed 5/18-Thurs 5/26. No one was in my house but my mother... during that time I started to receive phone calls from some woman saying that I call her (or her fiancees) phone let it ring once and hang up. She has left 2 messages on my phone while we were away. I called Verizon and asked them to look into whats going on...

Friday AM (yesterday) I am on the phone with my MIL and I get another call, on my caller ID I see its the same person who thinks I am pranking her. I answer and she tells me I am calling and hanging up on her, but I was on the phone with my MIL... I attempt to explain that we havent been home but does she want to listen to me? NOOOOO... she gets testy and her fiancee in the background is cursing and telling her to hang up which she does.

Today, I am laying on the couch with Jeremy asleep on my chest when the phone rings AGAIN, its her. She leaves a message on my phone that its annoying her to get these calls and I should change my number.

I call her back to try again to let her know I have a call into Verizon to see if its a problem with the line or whats going on... but again does she want to listen to reason??? NOOOO. She proceeds to tell me that if it has to do with Shelia that I am going to have problems and she is going to take me to court... I try to explain to her that I have no idea who Shiela is... she hangs up on me again!!! She says my number came up private when I called her back (which it should cause our number is private) but the other times that "I called" it came up with a name like FL Chow or something... she wouldnt tell me.

W T F should I do? If she puts my # into Google it will show her right where I live! I have to wait till Tuesday to get any help from Verizon. This ****** just wont listen to me. Yes, it would be annoying to get all those calls but ITS NOT ME!!!

If anyone knows a woman whos Fiancee is Michael R whos cell phone is 631-909-**** and he has an ex named Shiela tell her its not me and to call her phone company

Wow, I don't know what to tell you. That's really crazy. Did she call you using star 69, or did she call the number on the ID? Perhaps somebody's calling her with the same number as yours, but a different area code and she doesn't realize? Maybe you should mention this to her, or at least TRY to the next time she calls you.

I would not try calling her ever, next time it happens call verizon, also tell them you want her number blocked from calling you as it is harassment. If you have a private number try typing it into google to check, dont think it should come back. I have optimum voice and i know it does not come back

also just to let you know i saw this thing a while ago on techtv were people can spoof the nubmer on a caller id box. Say my number is 516-555-4316 if i called you with the spoof i could make it show any number i wanted. They were talking about how they did it to one of the staff members with one of the numbers registered to the white house and it showed up on the caller id as white house

I think she got the number right from the cell phone. I think she just pressed redial so I dont think its a problem with dialing the wrong number or getting an area code wrong...

I tried calling Verizon but I got a "were off having a fun Memorial Day" message. Maybe I dialed the wrong number!!!

We have a listed number but its private when we dial out and yes, it does show up on Google.

Did you call 611? Maybe the wires got mixed somewhere.

Soooo Ive called Verizon 3x now. I spoke to a woman who said my call from yesterday yielded nothing out of the ordinary. My line is clear. She basically said its not my problem... she put in another ticket to have it checked again. I am going to call and have her number blocked because of harrassment on Tuesday as soon as Verizon opens back up again. That part of Verizon investigates further.
