I don't know if you are interested, but there is a website where you can find out about your doctor's medical malpractice history, practice information, awards, etc.... There is also a link to find out that status of your doctor's license.

Of course this applies to all doctors, not just our OBGYNS.

ETA: Don't worry if you doctor has been sued once or twice. Many doctors get sued for malpractice even when it isn't their fault. When something goes wrong, a good lawyer will sue everyone involved and then through discovery find out exactly who is responsible.
