This is buggin the crap out of me-update
I've had this problem with my right eye for a week or so. At first I thought it was a stye and now it feels like there's something in in and I can't get it out.
It's annoying!!! It feels better when it's closed. I'm wondering if I have pink eye or an eye infection.
Anybody have a clue? Maybe I should see a doc? But my primary doc or an opthalmologist?
Update: Went to studio optix on 49thst and saw the doc. There was something in my eye and it was scratching my eye. He gave me a scrpt for antibiotic drops and some antibiotic cream to put on at night..he got the piece of cinder (what!!) out and told me it was in my upper eyelid. I knew that..
Feels better already but it's pretty scratched up.

See an opthamologist. It could be a scratched cornea.
Hope it feels better soon. If you want temporary relief, get some rewetting drops for contact users.

I girl at work scratched her eye in her sleep last week and it ended up almost closing up on her
It could be allergies. I got an eye infection from an irritation from allergies before.

What a coincidence! I am going through the SAME EXACT THING right now! it feels like a stye however it is actually giving me a HEADACHE 
Maybe I should see a doctor-

see a doc..it took all of 10 minutes for him to figure it out. It feels better, but it's irritated.

Glad you went! DH had a tiny piece of steel in his eye for days until it swelled & pussed up. He went to the OR. What a mistake. They tried clamping his eye open. The next time it happened, he said "I'm not going to a doctor." I made an appointment at the ophthamologist for him. It was out in 5 seconds.
Always go to the specialist if you can!

Just as an FYI - I took a friend to the ER for an eye related thing and was told later by my opthamologist that if you are in the ER for an eye problem to ask for an opthamologist. The ER doctor fixed her up, but the treatment was much longer and more uncomfortable than it needed to be.
