I have a blackberry tree in the backyard

Do you think they are ediable to eat or are they posionous? i should have asked the previous owner's but didn't realize what kind of tree it was till they left.if it is ediable i can make blackberry pies!!!Chat Icon

Is it a tree or a bush? I think blackberries grow on bushes.

Might be an elderberry tree -- they look like blackberries. I had 1 they are really good. You can make pie. jelly put them on cereal.

oooh ooohh i grew up with a blackberry tree- use to eat them all the time--- just dont eat the stem part---

anyways- they were good for years- until they got buggy infested with tiny bugs-- when you pick them just make sure you wash them before you eat--

we also use to have a blueberry bush, and rasberry bushes that were VERY goodChat Icon

My neighbor has grape vines and they overhang my fence. We pick them...they are white grapes and fabulous. I plan on swapping with my newly sprouted tomatoes once they ripen.
