When does the spotting stop?

I know my levels came in OK & the Dr said everything looks OK, but I am still so freaked out about the spotting. I know it is mostly old blood, but it still makes me so nervous. I have been spotting since last Saturday - seems like a long time, no?

Re: When does the spotting stop?

I spotted everyday from week 5 to week 11...so for everyone its different. As long as its brown and you don't have pain/cramps its probably "normal" for you (as it was for me).

I know it totally freaks you out, believe me I was a wreck the entire first tri! I was lucky my doctor had me come in every 2 weeks (sometimes every week) to check the heartbeat to make sure I wasn't miscarrying.

HOpe all is wellChat Icon

Thanks. If it ever gets worse or you are uncomfortable, it never hurts to call your doctor. Everyone is different!!!

Good luck!

minor cramps are pretty normal - the bad ones are usually really painful. Let us know how it goes.

I have to call again too... it keeps going from pinkish to brown w/ a lot of cm to pale red w/ little cm. I know I worry too much but it is such a trying thing.

Yep...me too.

It's such a little bit - not even enough to stain my underwear. It only shows up when I wipe (TMI, I know).

Every 4-5 days I'll wipe and get a little red streak in the CM and then nothing for the rest of the day.

It's heart stopping everytime I see it.

And if I just didn't look after I wiped I would never even know.

But I'm a compulsive TP checker!!!

Me too.. I am so compulsive!

It is only really when I wipe. (I know more TMI). I had a tiny little diluted looking spot in a panty-liner this morning, but that was it. I just know I am going to keep freaking out until the sono.Chat Icon

Re: When does the spotting stop?

I am 3 1/2 months and my staining just stopped 2 days ago.
Iwear a pad every day...because it stayed brown and I had to wear one.

Point is...depending how far along u are---sometimes it cannot be explained until a couple more weeks go by.
It turned out I had a low-lying placenta./ and a blood sac near a baby.
and...a third sac that my body had to resolve--( a poss triplet) I now have twins..if i am confusing u..sorry.
your placenta isnt really apparent immediately.
If it is brown and scant not accompanied by bad cramps or contractions and blood level is ok--it usually is ok. now...I had bright red and gushing for a minute one time and it was still ok, because it stopped. I know no sex until staining stops.
it is very scary and everytime u pee it stops your heart.
I just wanted to share that it really isnt as uncommon as u think and I thought and there can be alot of reasons/.

Re: When does the spotting stop?

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your candid answer. The one thing the Dr did say was no vaginal intercourse until the spotting stops for a few days. Unlike normal, right now that is the least of my worriesChat Icon

Thanks again & congrats! Chat Icon
