Re: Hiring nurse after baby's birth.....
My mom is a post partum doula (basically helps you with the baby, laundry, etc). I'll ask her what she charges.
eta. She charges $15-20 hour. She isn't a nurse though.
she said if they are certified as a doula, it's 25/hr

Re: Hiring nurse after baby's birth.....
Well, that is exactly what we were looking for. I contacted someone in NYC and I really was more interested in somone more local as possible. We live on the South Shore and any insight/suggestions/etc...you can share would be great!
Thank you!

Re: Hiring nurse after baby's birth.....
I had never heard of this until reading it on here but I know for me I wanted to do everything myself. I had a hard time letting my mom or MIL help me with the baby. IMO hiring a cleaning lady or someone to run errands would be helpful. At least that's what I needed the most in the beginning.

I felt the same way. I did have my mom's house keeper come over and help us out, I still get her once a month.

I didn't have one and totally regret it. I'm gonna hire one for baby #2 (whenever that is )
