my parents did do this to me...and more than once.
When we were watching "IT"
my father snuck out back...he was standing by the window wearing a clown wig, clown nose and holding a balloon
When we Watched "The Exorcist"
my mother hid in the closet and started stracting the door
When we Watched "Nightmare on Elm Street"
my parents went downstairs to the boiler room...which was located below my bedroom...and made scratching noises on the pipes...when we got out of bed my father was waiting in the hall with a monster mask on to chase us around the house.
When we Watch "Critters"
my mom rolled balls into my sister's room as she was trying to fall asleep
