How long will you stay out of work if your not getting paid?
I'm not getting paid but will get disability. Just curious. We are trying to figure out how long to stay out of work.

same here
living in new jersey we have a separate family leave act that kicks in post disability so FMLA and NJFLA overlap giving me a few more weeks.
i am going to take as much time as possible even though it will be unpaid  .

Does anyone pregnant get disability or any other pay? because i dont get any paid maternity at work?

I have been out of work since 8/12 (high blood pressure). I gave birth on 9/26 and got paid through 11/4. I am going to go back 1 day a week on 2/4 and I am even dreading that. I am very comfortable staying at home but in my profession just one day a week is a significant amount of money so its silly not to do it.

I'm not sure how long I'll stay out - it all depends on how early before the baby I go out, how the baby is and if I am feeling up to returning to work and....how long we can afford to have me not working.
I'm entitled to 6 wks disability through my job. The first 4 at 80% pay and the following 2 at 60% pay.
I found out last week that if needed, and under doctors orders only, I can be out another 6 weeks - the first 2 weeks at 60% pay and the remaining 4 wks at 40% pay.
I've also started doing research and in addition the the above amount of my pay that my copmpany is paying me, I think I'm also entitled to disability from NY State...but it is only a maximum benefit of $170 a week, which is not much but its still extra $!

I'm in NJ too so between federal and NJ family leave, I will be able to stay out of work until the end of the school year. (I work in a school district). I will only be getting paid for whatever sick days I have accumulated because NJ school employees are not eligible to get paid disability. I won't have to go back to work until Sept, which will be 6 months. Depending on how it works out with me staying home, we'll decide if I'll go back to work in September, but I'll probably go back to work only part-time.

I get 8 weeks and my sick days. I cant really afford not to get paid so I am going back after 10 1/2 weeks possibley 12 but thats it. We cant really go without a pay check or 2. It will not be too bad I teachand I willonly have 1 1/2 months of work until summer break
