Someone shoot me - VENT - overly expensive hair salons
I just went to Frederic Fekkai to get my hair done - everyone in my office goes there, and since my bday is in two days I decided to treat myself with new highlights. The chick that did my hair does Bon Jovi's hair...well, I look like a whore....she lightened my hair so much (my natural color is dark brown). $300 later  Why does this crap always happen to me? I should have stuck with my cheap guy, but I thought that since the salon is so "ritzy" that there would be no way they could screw it up...yeah, right. Shoot me!
Sorry, I know this is completely not important compared to what is going on everywhere in the world, but I wanted to forget about all the bad things and indulge in a nice hair do....I guess I should find another outlet

Hey, these things are important too. Can you go back to them and ask them to fix it? What do other people say? We're always hardest on ourselves so maybe its not too bad?

Nobody has seen it yet. I am afraid of the damage that will be done if I go back to get it corrected.

it always looks lightest the first few days... w/in a coupleof weeks, your roots will add some darkness to it.

have them put a toner in.. it should mute the blonde a little and won't do any damage. For $300 I think that is the least they can do for you if you are unhappy.

That stinks. I love my girl and she is so inexpensive compared to other places around. Shehas done the best highlighting job and I have gotten the best compliments since I started using her and saving tons of money!

Definitley go back and ask her to fix it.
I go to Louis Licari and love it. They spend ta lot of time talking about your color and when it's done they ask you if you want anything changed. And it's less than $300!! I go to either Yolanda or Kazu. I just went on Friday, got a single process (for all my grays) and a half head of highlights for $166 plus tip = $200.

Same thing happened to me last summer. It wasn't $300...but I went to a pricier salon and she butchered my hair!
It was terrible!

I completely agree. I would go back and ask them to fix it. You should be happy with the final product, regardless of price.

Same thing happened to me, i went to a very expensive salon in the city and the charged over $400. I ended up with orange hair. Never again!

I was not impressed with FF either, I went there to darken my hair a bit to go back to my natural color and they made my hair almost black.
IMO these places you are just paying for the name.
