Wierd question - need help

I don't understand my dog. He runs up and down the stairs 1600 times a day and did so again this morning.

I went out for a few hours today and when I came home Cosmo wouldn't come up the stairs. I've tried putting treats on the stairs but that doesn't work.

What could have happened in a 3 hour span that would cause him to not go up the second flight of my stairs? Is there a way to coax him up? We've tried EVERYTHING that usually gets him.

He's sitting on the landing and crying - I don't get it.

hi hon! is it possible whie doign it today something really scraded him? or that he injured himself somehow? is there a rough spot on any part of the stiars that he could have hit??
