looking for a restaurant

Does anyone know of a restaurant in NY (Manhattan, Nassau, or suffolk) that is like a restaurant similar to the melting pot in Florida? If you dont know what the melting pot is...its fondue type restaurant where they bring out cheeses in melting pots to dip with various breads as appt, meats on skewers and they finalize with chocolate in melting pots with various fruit.

That sounds yummy!

The only restaurant I know of that has fondue, not sure if it's what you are looking for, is Sweetwaters in Hauppauge.

Try Dip Cafe in Manhattan. I went there for my bachlorette party and everyone loved it. Let me see if I can find the website for you.

We went to a Melting Pot in Darien, CT, right after Christmas. The waitress told us they would be opening one soon in Westchester county. Chat Icon

My two favorite fondues from Dip was English Cotswald Cheddar and the white chocolate dessert. YUMMY!! Their wings smell good and we always get the skewer sampler. Oh and great apple martinis!! :D

I would suggest making a reservation - the two or three times I went there it was full.

Have a great time!!!

I went to the one in VA several years ago and it was so good. I was excited to see tv ads about the one in Darien since we live really close to there. How was it?

It was delicious! We were there a looong time, though. I think the fondue experience takes longer than a regular dinner. We had a complete dinner, so we had a cheese course, then a salad, then the main course (the meats and stuff in the broth). Then the whole table shared a dessert fondue, which was chocolate with a little peanut butter mixed in. YUM Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks for the info. It sounds so yummy. I love any dessert with chocolate and peanut butter, but DH hates peanut butter. Chat Icon Maybe we'll have to go with several people so I can get that dessert.
