Stair contractor

We would like to re-do our staircase leading to the second floor..hardwoods, new railing etc..

Can anyone recommend someone? Also-do you have pics and can tell me if I have to rob a bank to get it done?

We just had our floors and railing redone before we moved in.

We had him finish 1130 sq feet oak and 12 oak treds on stairs. Sand, scrape, screen and apply 3 coats of Moisturecure polyurathane $2500. plus $450 for each additional coat of poly. 3 coats is standard but I wanted 5.
We are having him back to install oak flooring in the livingroom next week.

He was the only one who would install the rail AND paint and stain. No other company we called would
We had 26 feet of railing
6010 Oak handrail with 5 4010 Newell Posta, over the post system with 60 5014 block top white spindles
$3000 cash. Very meticulous. Took 2 1/2 days but I have a long railing.

ETA: The two companies often work together. Whatever companies you hire, they need to coordinate if you are going to get both. After the second coat on the floor, then the railing is installed, then the floor guys comes back, screens and does the other coats. the whole job took two weeks but it's largely because I wanted the extra coats. The pics were taken after the second coat on the floor, therefore, not so shiney.

It REALLY improved the space.

that's exactly what I want done-except my already existing hardwoods in the floor are ok, it's just 14 steps and two landings.

thanks for the info. I'm thinking it should be about $2k?
