Have you ever heard of knowing the sex of the baby at 11 weeks

DD's stepmom is pregnant also and she went for a sono(not a levelII) and the sonotech asked her if she was gonna find out the sex....she said why can you tell already and the sono tech said your little one just flashed me..............ITS A GIRL!!!
so we are all excited but now her dr told her not to rely on that because at 11 weeks the gentials of male and female are very similar at 11 weeks
Do you know anyone that found out that early???

I know someone who found out the sex at 12 weeks. But in her case it was a boy, so I figured it was easier to tell.

I found out at 12 weeks that it was a boy... at that stage that is all you can tell 9 that is what I was told by my brother who is a doctor)

I would wait to make sure at the 20 week sono before you start buying anything

I knew at 11 weeks but only because we had a CVS done.

The earliest the dr. was able to tell us was 15 weeks and even then, he said that he would wait until the Level II to be sure

really? I read that b/t weeks 18 to 22 is when the baby boys testicles start their descent from the belly into the scrotum.

11 weeks from a sono I think is way too early and would not trust it.

From everything I have heard and read -- it's too early to tell. Of course, they do have a 50% chance of being right.

When I had my Ultrascreen the dr told me from what she could see it looked like a girl but not to quote her on that bc it was very early - if I remember correctly that was about 14 wks.

I believe it's possible - but only if they saw that it was a boy. With a girl it's harder to be sure. I found out with Jake at around 12-13 weeks and they told me that if their guess was girl, they wouldn't trust it that early on. With a boy, it's a little more obvious it's a boy.

I would tell them not to buy anything pink just yet.

I've herad of people finding out at 12 weeks, but I havent heard how many times it was correct....

i've read in books that you can find out the sex as early as 13 weeks and it's 100% accurate if it's a boy, however when dealing with a girl it's not always 100% accurate.

at 12 weeks my SIL was told it looks like a girl. She had a boy.

That is very interesting!

When I think back to when I had my ultrascreen, the tech asked me what I thought it was and I tended to think . I would refer to it most of the time as "He". She said to me, well there are a lot of mothers to be pregnant with girls right now. I thougt to myself could she tell that early...at the time it seemed to me she had a feeling girl. I wonder if she had an idea by the ultrascreen.

If she did she was right, I am having a !!
