Cool Mist humidifier
Is this something that is worth buying? They are not very common in the UK as most people are fighting damp in their homes, but as you mommas all say that you use them when your little ones have colds, should I look for one just to have in case?

Re: Cool Mist humidifier
I have a Hunter (the people that make ceiling fans) cool mist Permawick...the filter does not need replacing.
I got it at Walmart for $40

Re: Cool Mist humidifier
If it's cold & damp over there as everyone says, I wouldn't bother with it. Since we crank up the heat in the winter time creating dry heat, it makes our kids more susceptible to croup/RSV, etc. I don't really need to worry about croup with Maddie, just Joseph. Unfortunately I think it was because he was a little premature and contracted RSV at 3 months.

Re: Cool Mist humidifier
Cold and Damp, you don't know the half of it sister! The one day a year that the sun comes out, everyone gets naked and acts like druids!
but our house is normal. We have gas heated radiators so its sort of not damp, but not dry. I just remember how the humidifier worked when I was a kid.
I think I will get one just in case poor ickle Noah gets sick...
