A late night laugh of something that happened to one of my booking agents
My agent has a lady say she got a letter from a relative that her cousin had passed away and she hadnt seen her cousin in over 50 years. A memorial was being done so it was really important to her that she go. She has never left the state of FL so had no clue about traveling.
My agent asks her ok where do you need to go? Lady responds "MACONGA"
My agent never heard of this. She asks are you sure. The lady says yes "Maconga" The agent has been in travel over 25 years and never heard of this place. She looks it up in the GDS and nothing. She calls Air Afric or something thinking it's some type of village in Africa. Nothing.
My agent calls the lady back advising of the unsuccessful attempt to find Maconga or any airport near that place and the lady tells her yes it's Maconga. I have the letter.
Oh wonderful. Fax us the letter. Hoping they can figure out where this place is located. FAX RECEIVED........
So the nearest airport to Maconga is ATLANTA!!!
The lady wanted to go to MACON, GA

omg, that is so funny but we get a lot of these people too... I work for a ticket wholesaler and once we had a woman that wanted to fly in business class because according to her windows open in business class
