Men...

So the other night me and DH are talking and I don't know how we started talking about it but he mentions that he won't be able to get up with the babies (twins) in the middle of the night on the nights he works because he gets up so early now that he needs his 6 hours as is. I just kind of glanced over at him and was like are you kidding and he was like no, the weekends fine, but not the weeknights.

I then stated well what happens when i go back to work and he's like well things might change then but when you are on maternity leave i am talking about.

I just started to laugh and decided that this man will get a dose of reality when they come and let it drop. I figure I'll see what happens.

So can a man really think that with 2 newborns that he will be able to get his full 6 hours of sleep for work?? LOL.

Anyone have any other good DH stories about things they say?

Re: Men...

DH is still reeling from the look of death he got on *this* one:

I was about 28 or 30 wks pregnant and was telling him how I couldn't believe how TIRED and sluggish the pregnancy makes me all the time. I'm usually really high-energy and kind of hyper. He says, completely seriously:

"Maybe it's because you're not exercising"

Um, maybe it's because I'm GESTATING? Maybe it's the fully formed HUMAN LIFE inside of me sucking all my resources that might be making me feel fatigued? Maybe it's the 30 lbs of EXTRA WEIGHT I need to haul around everywhere I go? Somehow I don't think it's because I've ditched my workout schedule.

Men.

I wouldn't worry about DH, I'm sure when the twins are born, he will realize that he needs to help you out!

That's ok, DH has already "asked" if I plan on continuing to work out through my pregnancy or if I plan on letting myself go. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Those are funny stories. I bit DH's head off when we were talking about a wedding we have to go to a month after the baby is born and DH said "you can go and I'll stay home and 'watch' the baby" I was like "watch" the baby? You can't "watch" your own kid! Get a grip, this baby will be both of our full responsibilities, we don't just "watch" the baby! Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon DH's friends all have kids of their own- so he knows.

One friend just had a baby 3 weeks ago. We went over the next week and he was saying how deep a sleeper he was, but now he wakes up every time the baby cries.

Your DH will learn. Men Chat Icon

Re: Men...

My fh likes to make fun of my sleeping habits. He says there is no way that I am going to be able to get up with the baby for the am feedings and how he will have to make all of the kids breakfast because I am not a morning person and I will probably let them starve!!! I am like HELLO, its mainly because the baby is still inside of me that makes me tired!!!
