Another "let's brighten the mood" topic!

So I've been thinking about it for a while but today I finally e-mailed Save-A-Pet to become a volunteer there. I don't have *that* much free time, but I've been wanting to volunteer there ever since we got JJ and I'm finally going to try and dedicate myself to helping out!

You go girl - congrats!!

My sister used to volunteer at North Shore. It was not a good experience for her -- basically the paid staff sat around and did nothing all day, while the volunteers had to do all the crappy work, with no guidance, appreciation or respect. I am hoping your situation is a million times better, but I guess it is good to be prepared before you go. Let us know how it goes!

Cool! I was thinking of volunteering for 1 hour every week at the local PetSmart (they have cat adoptions there) since I am already there every week getting one of my pups groomed

GREAT news. i am involved w/ Labs 4 Rescue and going to foster my first rescue starting this weekend. I conduct home visits as well. i LOVE the people and the great efforts made by the organization. such a rewarding yet sometimes sombering expereince.

i commend you and your dedication to helping those that can't help themselves.

That's wonderful news - congrats on your first foster!! I WISH I could do that but I live in a 1 bedroom and they only allow 1 dog/apartment. Maybe one day when we get a house
